Virat Kohli is on the verge of becoming only the fourth player in cricket history to reach a remarkable milestone in the IND vs BAN 2nd Test. Widely regarded as one of the best batters of this generation, Kohli has built an extraordinary record across all formats. When Sachin Tendulkar once suggested that Kohli could break his records, many were skeptical. Yet, as time passes, Kohli inches closer to those feats, already claiming the record for most ODI centuries with 50.

As Kohli continues his journey toward becoming one of the greatest, he is eyeing another significant achievement in the India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test in Kanpur, which begins on September 27.

Virat Kohli Poised for Another Record

Kohli needs just 35 runs in the upcoming match to become the fourth player in international cricket history to score 27,000 runs. Currently standing at 26,965 runs, this achievement will place him among an elite group of cricket legends:

  • 34,357 – Sachin Tendulkar
  • 28,016 – Kumar Sangakkara
  • 27,483 – Ricky Ponting
  • 26,965 – Virat Kohli*
  • 25,957 – Mahela Jayawardene
  • 25,534 – Jacques Kallis

Kohli Looking to Regain Form

After struggling in the first Test against Bangladesh, where he managed scores of 6 and 17 in two innings, Kohli will aim to return to form. Notably, this was his first red-ball appearance since March, when he last played against England in a Test match.

All eyes will be on Kanpur as Kohli looks to cement his legacy with another historic feat.
